Carmela and Nate’s Willowdale Estate Wedding in Topsfield, MA, was a manifestation of so many personal elements for this bride and groom – I think that’s one of the reasons I enjoyed being part of their nuptials so much. Nate is heavily entrenched in the music business, both as a formally trained artist, and within his entrepreneurial ventures. So it only seemed right that he lead Carmela’s nephew’s (Hayden) first birthday sing-a-long from behind the keyboard during their reception. As you can imagine, Hayden despised the attention. Carmela’s family mainly hails from Argentina, so she and Nate went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt at home. Carmela even managed to fly in Argentinian ice cream so that her family would have a taste of comfort, and their friends could finally taste what she’s been raving about for years.
Family illness on the groom’s side make the wedding day particularly emotional. While sickness is never something to wish for, it does create a silver lining of perspective, particularly on would-be stressful days like a wedding. What mattered most to Carmela and Nate on their wedding day was that their families were together to celebrate – not just their wedding, but each other. I loved bearing witness to all their joyful tears, and I’m thrilled to be part of their journey for life. Enjoy their beautiful story.
