When the Tall Ships float into the Boston Seaport on your wedding day, you know you’re KIND OF A BIG DEAL. They hadn’t seen the Boston harbor in 18 years, and on Angela and Derek’s wedding day, they returned to provide us with an unbeatable backdrop. Angela and Derek live in Brooklyn but the bride hails from Massachusetts. They chose the Seaport Hotel for their wedding because of the hotel’s proximity to the water and the client-centered philosophy of the staff. It’s one of my favorite places to photograph weddings because the wedding coordinators at the hotel are nothing short of phenomenal, so I was thrilled to hear that Angela and Derek thought so too!
While security was tight at the Seaport Hotel and surrounding area on their wedding day, we were able to get up close and personal with one of the docked ships outside the Harborview Ballroom. Their cocktail hour included a sweet, pink sunset with towering sails and silhouette flags waving in the breeze. The bride and groom’s wedding day was flawless – from predicted rain that stayed at bay, to a beautiful ceremony in Wintergarden, to a reception that included a toast from each member of the bridal party, I would say that Angela and Derek had the wedding of their dreams.
Thank you, Angela and Derek, for allowing me to document the first milestone of the McKenzie family!
