Engagement photography is one of my favorite things to do, but especially when it’s right in the Boston Seaport (my backyard!) and with two fellow New Yorkers. Lindsay and Alex reside in Manhattan but are getting married in May at the Ritz Carlton here in Boston. Earlier that day, they had gotten their marriage certificate so it seemed like a pretty perfect day to officially photograph their engagement.
We wandered in and out of the Seaport’s multi-textured nooks and crannies, on what was a a pretty mild day for early April. I had so much fun getting to know them, and hearing first hand the stories of their relationship, leading right up to today. I also learned just how easy they are to photograph 🙂 You can read more about our session while checking out their images below.
I love this fire escape turned lovers staircase!
Here’s where we left the alleyway behind my office and headed off to a dock on the Fort Point Channel.
As you can see, the dock affords stunning views of the Boston skyline, it’s one of my favorite places to photograph or just sit and think.
There’s a walkway leading from the Harborwalk up towards Congress street, with these tiny pockets of light streaming through. It makes for gorgeous portraits.
Texture, texture, texture. I’m in love with texture. Old, rusty doors make incredible backdrops, you can quote me on that.
We moved along the Harborwalk and captured some more incredible cityscapes. It’s pretty hard to miss with Lindsay and Alex as subjects, but I will see these are some of my favorite shots to date.
Small, fleeting looks and gestures are my favorite things to photograph. Learning to anticipate moments like that is an acquired skill, but definitely worth the wait.
