When I first spoke to Liz on the phone about documenting her newborn, I knew we were a great fit by the way she spoke about her pup, Oreo. Oreo is an integral part of the Daly family, and that dog KNOWS it. She was fresh off a shampoo and blow out for our session, and Oreo managed to find her way into most photos, including those of her newborn little sister, Ellie. I met Ellie 5 days after she made her entrance into the world, and we photographed Daly life as a foursome at their home in Beacon Hill. One of my favorite things about documenting families at home is how personal it is – years from now, little Ellie will see the details of the home she was brought into, and the pup who made her feel welcome. There is so much intimacy in the little things about home, that’s inimitable by studio photography. Enjoy this family’s sweet welcoming of baby girl Ellie.
I suspect Oreo will have a hard time giving up the spotlight to sister Ellie.
We used a family blanket and as basic newborn wrap to shoot on – simple things usually photograph best.
I love these sweet moments with Ellie and mom.
Love this shot of the Daly parents with their girls.
